Eberhard Faber Blackwing 602
The Blackwing 602 is one of the best pencils ever designed. Many artists and illustrators used this pencil until production was discontinued after the acquisition of this product range by Newell Rubbermaid's Sanford Sharpie Division.
These pencils currently sell for $20 to $30 each on eBay auctions. Click here for any current eBay auctions for this item.

Lisa Laughy creator of Ninth Wave Designs Blog(now proudly hosted on Pencils.com) has several posts Moleskine & Blackwing 602 covers this artist's devotion to this pencil. Later she selected the California Republic Palomino HB or 2B pencils as the successor to the Blackwing 602!
This one from PencilThings.info blog describes a lost opportunity for a big cache of Blackwings. Also from PencilThings.info is this review titled A Realists View of the Legendary Blackwing 602.

I missed opportunity to understand a great pencil.
I keep coming across praises for this pencil and every time that I do I keep remembering what I unintentionally tended to use them for. What's that, you're thinking? Well the eraser on the Blackwing 602 looked so much like a paintbrush to me that that's what I used it for. It made some pretty cool lines and textures, and the ferrule actually held a goodly amount of ink or paint, so if I come across one or so in box at a yard sale I'll definitely pick em' up and I probably will use them as paintbrushes again even if they are now worth the same as a Delorian.
Pencils are tools and if a tool can be used for more than one purpose, no matter how cockamamie, then I'm going to use them as such, and have me a blast doing so.
