JLI welcomes you to a beginners view at watercolor painting as inspired by the artwork of the Walt Disney Studios. In each month, JLI artists will look techniques for recreating popular scenes from the great Disney animated feature films from Snow White to the Jungle Books.

JLI welcomes you to our new drawing basics class format that includes the beginnings of the illustrated genre in cartoon and comic art. This quarter we will look at the characters of the Walt Disney Studios and the artwork of legendary animators, Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.

Classic characters like Pinocchio, Bambi, and Captain Hook, will be drawn in a how-to format. By the end of quarter each artist will come away with skills including drawing characters with action lines, guidelines to drawing human and animal characters, and compositional storytelling rules.

JLI welcomes you to an intensive study into the conceptual design and illustrated artwork of famed animation directors Chuck Jones and Tex Avery. In each month, JLI artists will look into layout as a tool for storytelling in the illustrated form.

JLI forwards Manga instruction with Manga Design, a intermediate course for artists versed in the basics of the illustration process. The learning centers around development of self created characters using the MANGA MATRIX process, and concluding with an original, illustrated manga page. This quarter we will focus on the illustration and designs by SQUARE ENIX and DISNEY for the video game Kingdom Hearts. Join us on Fridays from 430-630.
