Exploring Environmental Issues: Biodiversity is an excellent series offered by Project Learning to explore the subject of Biodiversity at the secondary school level.

The program was developed in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund and address a broad range of concepts involved with Environmental Issues. It is available as a free download from Project Learning Tree.

The Story of Pencils: Activity 5 - What is a Sustained-Yield Forest?

Objective: Students will be able to define the concept and value of a sustained-yield foresti. As a "capstone" activity, students also will be able to apply the unit's learnings in a community activity.
